Treadmill

And this is why I don't run on a treadmill...
(Oh, and the title of this is "Fat Girl Falls on Treadmill" if that girl is fat I must be in the great blue whale category!)

Gluten Free Foods Review

So I thought I would try some Gluten Free products and give reviews. I plan on updating every couple of weeks or so or maybe more- if you have found someting that you would like to share then please feel free to comment.
Here are a few things I have been munching on lately....

Oh and keep in mind that gluten free products can be a little pricey- you may have to shop around to find the best deal.

bread- it has a "home made" taste, it is a bit chewy and very good when toasted

rice- awesome! very quick! great for work

crispy rice bars- very good, has a light sweet taste, it taste like peanut butter and honey

risotto- pretty good

soft baked chocolate chip cookie- really really good! tastes alot like chewy chips ahoy, really good

thai garlic and vegtable noodles- good, filling and has a good taste

koala crisp- pretty good "cocoa crispie" type cereal. it is very very sweet, i like the coccoa pebbles chocolate, they are gluten free as well

larabars- really really good, all different flavors, soft and chewy- they are really good when stored in the fridge

Get Fit or Die Trying

Hello all, this is Carrie (the big sis...in more ways than one!)
I've decided that August 1st will be my new January 1st because I'm making some resolutions.  I've decided that due to limited funds, two preschoolers in tow, and my husband's crazy work schedule that going to the gym on a regular basis may not be my best choice.

SOOOO, instead of using all of those as an excuse I've decided to work around all of that and still find a way to lose weight.  Thanks to my friend Lauren at A Million Canaries, I was inspired to try something new.  She had mentioned wanting to start the Couch 2 5K program which I've heard of before from my cousin Mindy who has in the past two years become an avid runner.

Anyways, I took that as a sign and tomorrow morning when all of the teachers and school kids are getting up early I will be too....... to run!
Wish me luck, and I will keep you updated on my progress.

STUFFED BANANA PEPPERS

6 to 8 lg. banana peppers
1 lb. lean ground beef
2 eggs
1 onion, chopped
1 c. grated cheddar cheese
Salt
Pepper
Rice Flour and Almond Flour mixed
Milk

Cut banana peppers in half and clean. Put aside until later. Mix meat, onions, cheese, salt and pepper together well. Stuff peppers with meat mixture. Set aside. Make egg and milk wash and dip stuffed peppers in wash and then in flour, then deep fry until meat is done and golden brown.

So, we tried this recipe but changed a few things.  Instead of the regular flour that it called for I used a mixture of Rice Flour and Almond Flour.  Instead of an egg wash I actually just made gluten free pancake batter (minus the sugar/syrup, etc.) but next time I might try dipping in egg first and then flour.  I also used sausage instead of beef which would be a problem for someone with a gluten allergy.  Emily is only gluten intolerant so very small amounts of gluten would not send her to the hospital.  Anyways, we seemed to like them considering I didn't even get a picture before they were all gone!  I might try them again and switch things up again just for fun!

XOCHiTL (so' cheel) Say that three times fast...

These are our most favorite corn chips EVER!  It's just a bonus that they are Gluten Free!!

Emily originally found them at our Publix in McDonough, GA but we were excited to find them down here in Ft.Walton Beach, FL while on vacation.  Whatever you do, DO NOT buy a bag...you will never want another brand of chips again!

We are the "gurluhs" of Gutsy and Gluten Free

My two year old says mommy and aunt Emily are "gurluhs" instead of "buoys" so that will be our introduction for now.
More info to come...
